Tours of the mansion are conducted by guides dressed in period costumes and are given on the hour, generally lasting 35 to 40 minutes. Visitors may walk the well-manicured grounds at their leisure with the help of a grounds map, which is provided when you purchase your ticket. For our international visitors, we offer a ground map and a brief written history of the mansion tour in French, Spanish and German.

Be sure to try one of our famous mint juleps available at our souvenir table located at the back door of the mansion as well as in the restaurant and cafe.

Restaurant open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, Oak Alley Restaurant is housed in a 19th century cottage located on the grounds of the plantation, not far from the antebellum mansion. Oak Alley Restaurant serves a wonderful selection of traditional Cajun and Creole dishes, some of which are listed below.

Lunch includes delicious, traditional Louisiana-style dishes, such as red beans & rice, jambalaya, shrimp Creole, chicken fricassee, fried alligator nuggets, crawfish etouffee and gumbo, as well as po-boys (Louisiana's version of a submarine sandwich), fresh salads and a wonderful selection of homemade desserts like bread pudding with whiskey sauce, pecan pie and buttermilk pie. In addition, Chef Tracie Chiquet features one or more specials daily, which showcase her culinary credentials and bring our menu offerings to a new level.
